From a Tampa Attendee
Lead Developer at a Software Company
Thinking back to the reasons why I wanted to attend SHARE in Tampa, it brings to mind all that I ended up gaining. While in Tampa, my objectives were to learn more about ISPF, IP Networking, and System z in general with a particular focus on some of the new sessions covering IPv6 implementation on z/OS. More specifically, the sessions, "Hands on with IPv6", "Understanding IPv6", "Getting Started with IPv6 on z/OS", and "ISPF Editor - Beyond the Basics", provided me the most immediate benefit.
Not only did my participation in all of the IPv6 sessions and the ISPF session help to address the current business issues at my organization, but they provided me the opportunity to meet with IBM developers to discuss my issues in more detail. The information about IPv6 and ISPF, which I have relayed back to my team and manager, has benefited us all.
Since returning from Tampa, I have been planning, and have in fact started the certification of my software in an IPv6 networking environment. With the contacts I made in Tampa with IBM and customers, there is no doubt I will be attending SHARE in the future.
