·A SHARE'd Experience

A SHARE'd Experience is where attendees can communicate the value they derive from SHARE. It is a place where participants feel comfortable expressing opinions about SHARE's year round education, networking and user-driven programs.

Now Featuring the SHARE'd Experience of...

SHARE in San Diego Attendee, Joel Ewing
Senior Technical Administrator, Data-Tronics, Corp.

I have attended more than 15 SHARE conferences. Why? Keeping up with change is a continual challenge. SHARE provides the unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with IBM developers to discuss these challenges and develop strategies to resolve issues.

For example, our technical staff is always looking for new ways to implement a migration of either z/OS or related software or hardware products. SHARE sessions provide migration information from IBM, mixed with actual experiences from other installations. The result is invaluable education that helps our company reduce time and decrease the risks involved with our own migration.

The SHARE conference in San Diego also addressed current issues of Business Continuity and IT 2010. I found it beneficial to our company to be able to validate our current DR strategy against current recommended practices and strategies used by other installations with similar requirements.

Overall, SHARE is one of the best ways to keep current with new product features and options and with developments that might not fall under one's current area of responsibility today, but could be tomorrow. I definitely plan on attending SHARE again.
